MARK GRIFFON | Mustang Talk Podcast
Mr. Griffon graduated from Friendswood HS in 1978 and then earned a BS in Biology and a Masters in Administration and Supervision both from Texas Tech University. Mr. Griffon received a Mid-Management Certification from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He holds a Superintendent Certification from Texas Southern University. Mr Griffon taught science for 14 years at Friendswood HS and was also the Head Basketball coach for 11 years.

He joined the administrative team at Friendswood HS in 2000 as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Griffon was the Associate Principal at FHS for one year and then the Executive Director of Administrative Operations for the district for one year before returning to Friendswood HS as the Principal.

Associate Principal

NANCY LOCKHART Gifted & Talented Coordinator
Mrs. Lockhart has her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education 6th-12th grades from the University of New Orleans and earned her Masters of Science in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification from the University of Houston. She taught middle school and high school mathematics in Louisiana and was also responsible for the remediation of at risk students. Mrs. Lockhart and her husband moved to Friendswood in 1996. She taught at FHS, in the math department, for seven years then joined the administrative team as an Assistant Principal. In 2007, she moved to Clear Lake High School to be the Dean of Instruction for one year before returning to Friendswood ISD as the Director of Student Success. Mrs. Lockhart has three children all whom have attended Friendswood schools. She is currently the Associate Principal.

Assistant Principals

DELANEY LYON Assistant Principal & Testing Coordinator
Mrs. Lyon has her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Secondary Education Certification from Texas State University and earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas- San Antonio. She taught 7th & 8th grade English, Reading, and Dyslexia Intervention for six years prior to moving to Friendswood. Mrs. Lyon joined the staff of Friendswood HS in 2016 as an Assistant Principal.

Assistant Principals by Alpha Groups

GLEN NEWSOM (Alpha Group A – Ek)
Mr. Newsom has his Bachelor of Arts in both English and Political Science from UHCL and his Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University. He taught and coached in Hitchcock ISD for 15 years before coming to Friendswood in 2010. At Friendswood High School Mr. Newsom taught Junior and Senior English and coached varsity football and baseball up until 2015 when he accepted the job as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Newsom has been married for 35 years, has three children, and is currently up to three grandchildren.

Ashley Birmingham has her Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Social Studies from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She has been employed in FISD for 13 years and was active on the FHS campus from the start, coaching UIL  Academics, Academic Decathlon, Academic Octathlon, and participating in the FISD Future Learning Leaders Academy.  Mrs. Birmingham led the Social Studies Department as Team Leader before moving to the role of Assistant Principal, where she still has the privilege of working with the Social Studies Department.

Amanda Bielamowicz has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Education Administration, both from Lamar University. She taught 7th and 8th grade math and coached in Woodville ISD before coming to Friendswood in 2006. Mrs. Bielamowicz has been employed in FISD for 16 years, all at Friendswood High School. She has taught various levels of math and sponsored Student Council and Link Crew. Most recently, Mrs. Bielamowicz has served as the Math Specialist, Math Department Team Leader, and 504 Coordinator. Her husband, Brian, teaches history at FHS and they have two children. 

Mr. Cappadona has a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters in Agricultural Education from Southwest Texas State University.  He also has a second Masters Degree in Principal Education from UHCL.  He taught in Pearland for five years before joining the FJH family in 2002 and the FHS family in 2008.  He spent a year in Barbers Hill ISD as an Administrator and a few years in the insurance industry.  Fred and his wife Teri have been married for 28 years and have three children.
