Brandon Arolfo ’97: After making a short film to win a scholarship, Brandon is now working on film projects….Look out Spielberg.

Ryan Barnett ’94: Graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in government. He is currently working as a youth minister at a Methodist Church in Pfluegerville.

Jennifer Bussear ’98: is teaching theatre and computer applications at Henry Middle School in Leander ISD. One Act will performing Robin Goodfellow. “I think my kiddos are going to do pretty well and if anything we will definitely win best costumes.” Jennifer is a Theatre Speech Communications graduate at Southwest Texas State.

Jason Chaney ’98: Jason graduated from the Culinary Institute of New York this May, and will be interning with at the Ritz Education Program for Chefs in Switzerland.

Katie Clarke (2001) – Cast in the leading role of Clara Johnson in Broadway production of Light in the Piazza in 2005. Katie graduated from Sam Houston State University December 2005 with a BFA in Theatre, just as she debuted on Broadway. Break a leg Katie! We are thrilled for you.

Aaron Cobb ‘00: Aaron is a Theatre Comunications major at the University of Houston.

Colin David 2009: UH Student Improv Troupe Glaundor Wins National Title Team Takes First Place in National College Improv Tournament in Chicago. His University of Houston’s Improvisation Troupe Wins. We are so PROUD of YOU Colin. Proud to say he got his improv start here at FHS in our Improv Troupe/Mustang Follies.Colin has done workshops for the FHS High School Improvisation Troupe and helped with Mustang Follies.

Carrie Devescovi ’99: After attending American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York for a summer course, Carrie has moved to New York to work and study.

Cody Easterbrook ’00: Cody is a sophomore attending BYU-Hawaii as a communications with a journalism emphasis. He hosted a daily pageant at the center and now officially dances polynesian dances. Cody also worked at the Ke Alakai’i, the school newspaper a staff writer (always a reporter) and a runner-up for Homecoming King and served on the Homecoming Court. He was also awarded the student Ambassador scholarship for BYUH. He leave for Cochabamba Bolivia in 2 weeks. Busy boy!

Greg Goff ’99: Greg will be a senior at The University of Oklahoma next year and will be interning in New York for the second year with a production company that stages pre Broadway show for investment producers.

Barrett Goldsmith 2000 is graduating from the University of Houston. He has been working with Rockets.

Kim Griffith ’95 – Graduated Baylor University in ’99 and moved around the country. I am back in the area and work as the Communications Director at Friendswood United Methodist Church. I am a part of a community theatre company, United Players. We are entering our tenth season: this fall (2005) Man of La Mancha, next spring (2006) I will direct The Beams Are Creaking, and summer (2006) Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Stephen Hebert Cyrano in 2000 is graduating from UT and has been accepted to Harvard as a Grad Student in Theology. Wife Natalie Boudreaux 02 will be moving to Boston as well.

Kevin Held 1997 – Graduate of NYU Tisch School for the Arts, Adler Conservatory. Living in California and performing in regional theatre in the LA area.

Wes Hickey ’99: Wes is a senior at Baylor majoring in Pre Med.

Tony Hopkins ’94: Graduated with a Masters from Rice University and is busy climbing the corporate ladder and is still the voice of Mustang Football and a member of the FISD School Board.

Kristen Huff ’94: Kristen graduated from at the University of Texas School of Law in 2001 and sworn by the Texas Bar in May 2002. I am an Assistant Attorney General in the Crime Victims’ Services Division. I will be the Hearing Officer for Crime Victims’ Compensation appeals. I will probably be doing trainings around the state in a couple of months as well.

Jonathan Jones ’00: Jonathan has completed his tour with the Navy.

Julia Jones 2001: Theatre major at NYU Tisch School. Acting major involved in many on and off campus projects in NY off Broadway.

Lori King ’00: Currently living in Des Plaines, IL. after a year and a half in Chicago on a couple of improvisational comedy teams that performed around town. Writing — a poem of mine has been published in a book of poetry, as well as many articles published in newspapers (editorials and my own column at UH). Richie Ramsey asand I co-founded a sketch comedy team called “Chompin’ at the Bit” at UH where we collaborated on writing the sketches. Some of my artwork is hanging in the lobby of Gilda’s Club Chicago. Right now I am working on a book about living with manic depression and I have also just written a country song. Now I am learning to play the guitar to write the music for it. I am working part-time as a nanny, living with my boyfriend of one and a half years and basically just enjoying life.

Danny Kirkwood ’00: After attending The University of Houston Moores School of Music as a Vocal Performance Major, Danny transfered to Texas A&M as a Bio Med Major. In the Fall of 2002 he will attend Boston Music Conservatory on a scholarship.

Ryan Kistenmacher ’04: is a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in business administration. He was recently elected the vice-president of his residence hall and is involved with many on-campus groups, including the Freshman Interest Groups, Texas Exes Student Chapter, Business Professionals of America, and he will soon begin giving campus tours for the Office of Admissions.

Andrew Love ’00: Andrew finished his second year at McClennan College in Waco and will be attending the University of Houston as a Theatre Major, next fall.

Jenny Martin ’95: I graduated from Texas A&M in 1999 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. I’ve been working as an intern architect at a Houston firm for the past six years. Only a few more exams to go, and I will be a
licensed Architect. I married a wonderful guy (also an Aggie) and we live in Pearland. We have a 10 month old son named Blake who is our pride and joy!

Joel Middents ’97: Joel is working with the Houston Grand Opera in administrative Computer operations.

Shauna McLean ’98: Shauna graduate in Theatre from TCU.

Ben Mobray ’00: Just finished a Comedy tour in England, with surprising results. He is now touring the US and working in Houston Comedy Clubs. Ben was awarded “Houston’s Funniest Comic” and is going to the National Competition to win a spot on an HBO special. We are proud of you, Ben!

Lindsay Powdrell ’01: Lindsay RECENTLY GRADUATED CUM LADE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON HONORS COLLEGE. SHE HAS DEFERRED ADMISSION TO REGENT LAW AT REGENT UNIVERSITY IN VIRGINIA AND ANXIOUSLY AWAITING TO HERE FROM U OF H LAW. AFTER BEING CO CAPTAIN OF THE U OF H SPEECH AND DEBATE SQUAD SHE WILL HELP COACH THEM THIS YEAR AS SHE TAKES POST GRAD CLASSES IN POLITICAL SCIENCE…UNLESS, UH LAW CALLS.

Powdy Powdrell ’00: Powdy WILL GRADUATE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON CLEAR LAKE IN DECEMBER O5 WITH A DEGREE IN PHYSICAL CONDITIONING. HE PLANS TO ATTEND UTMB IN AUGUST 06 TO PERSUE HIS MASTERS IN PHYSICAL THERAPY.

Nathan Raley ’94: Nathan is currently teaching at Houston Baptist University. I want to invite you to come out and see the show that I’ve been working on for the last couple of months at the Country Playhouse. I first saw The Elephant Man at the A.D. Players Theatre when I was in high school in Friendswood, and it really struck me. I got the script and did a 10-minute cutting of the play for dramatic interpretation at speech tournaments and ended up taking the piece to nationals. Now, more than 10 years later, I get the opportunity to be in the play “for real,” and it is a great privilege. This play won the Tony award for best play in 1979 and is based pretty closely, as best I can tell, on the actual accounts, photos, and hospital documents surrounding the case of John Merrick, the contemporary of Jack the Ripper who managed to find meaning, dignity, and even humor in life despite horrific deformities and health problems. He went from being an abused freak-show commodity to being a friend of the crème-de-la-crème of English society. Merrick is of course really interesting, but the doctor who has compassion on him is an equally fascinating character. I won’t say much else about the show now, but I think you’ll enjoy it and find plenty to think about and discuss in this clever, moving, and sometimes humorous play. I’m playing Merrick, and my friend Will Burgin, theatre director at the school where I teach, is the lighting designer. The play opens this weekend and runs for three more weekends after that. It is about an hour and a half long, without an intermission. I’m including a mini version of the poster which you can look at for details, and below is the website, in case you want to buy tickets online. The last show is on Saturday night, April 2. I really hope you can come!!!

John Ramsey ’98: entering his final year of Law School at UT. He recently won the funniest man in Austin competition.

Richie Ramsey ’95: and his wife are expecting. Richie is now the Broadcast Journalism teacher at FHS.

Matt Rickard ’05: Freshman at the University of Cincinnatti Conservatory of Music and Theatre. Recently cast as a SUPER Numerary (yes Mark and Rachel a Super Numerary) in a professional Opera Company’s Opera. Loving the Anne Bogart acting training.

Libby Revis ’98: I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2002 and my Master of Social Work degree from UH in 2003. I am currently working at Harris County Social Services.

Mark Robbins ’04: winning playwright of the HYPE Houston Young Playwright’s Exchange at the Alley Theatre!

Matt Timme 2001: Theatre Major at Webster University. Recently cast in the Saint Louis Reperatory Theatre’s “Pirrendello’s Henry IV”. Currently a senior at Webster University where he is very active in their program.

Christen Vincent ’99: Currently attending the University of Houston as a Theatre Major.

Cameron Waldner ’00: Camerion is majoring in Theatre Communications at The University of Houston.

Wendy Ward-Valichek ’96: Wendy is attending Baylor Medical School with her husband, Ryan.

Michael Wallace – ’80. Acted in virtually all productions during my 2 years at FHS (78-79 and 79-80), including fall productions, musicals, One Act Play, and UIL speech tournaments under the directorship of Bennie Nipper. Spent 20 years in the US Navy in the Nuclear Power program. During navy years, acted in some local plays, including one put on by the chaplain department on the USS Abraham Lincoln while underway on deployment. Retired from Navy life in 2006. Currently working for Siemens in Orlando as a Technical Training Specialist, traveling the world to teach systems and operations of gas turbine power generating equipment.

Matt Youngblood ’97: I currently live in Southern California with my wife. I graduate from The University of North Texas in ’01. (took me a while to find myself) I am attempting to get my MBA from Cal State and working in a small bank in the Major Loan Division. I gave up acting shortly after High School, however, recently I have been looking into doing some community theater. married last summer to an amazing person. I finally found someone to put up with me.

John Zendt (2004) – Attending the United States Naval Academy with intent in majoring in Military History/Politcal Science and being commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer. Participating in Navy Varsity Cheerleading. Was part of the 2004 UIL One Act Play State Championship production of Rozencrantz and Guilderstern Are Dead. Misses Pod…Pod misses him.
