[5A State Swim and Dive Championship – Seniors Girls dominate as State Champions!]

Friendswood High School Girls placed 5 th (132 points) out of 50 girl teams and the Boys placed 14 th (41 points) out
of 60 boy teams at the 5A State Championship Swim and Dive Meet. The state meet was held at The University of
Texas in Austin, February 21 st and 22 nd . Ninety-seven schools from across Texas started the competition on Friday
with roughly three-fifths advancing to the Finals on Saturday.
The 13 Mustang swimmers and 1 diver who competed are: Olivia Esbeck, Edi Jakob, Andi Jeanes, Carmen Laurito, Kk LeBlanc, Paige McCray, Lauren Tillman, Taylor Welch, Nick Hardt, Nate Henderson, Simon Kinsworthy, Caleb Livesay, Jovan Stojkovski, and Grayson Wells.
Congratulations to the Girls 200 Freestyle Relay who placed 1 st and broke a 9-year-old Friendswood Team Record
with a 1:35.81! The seniors (LeBlanc, McCray, Jeanes, and Tillman) also won silver in their 400 Freestyle Relay.
Congratulations to Kk LeBlanc on receiving the 5A State Girls Athlete of the Meet! Kk defended her 100 and 200
freestyle state champ titles and also broke a 6-year-old 5A STATE record in the 200 freestyle with her time of
1:46.32.

Girls 200 Free Relay: 1 st – Kk LeBlanc, Paige McCray, Andi Jeanes, Lauren Tillman
Girls 400 Free Relay: 2 nd – Paige McCray, Lauren Tillman, Andi Jeanes, Kk LeBlanc
Four FHS records were broken:
Girls 200 Free – 1:46.32, Kk LeBlanc
Girls 100 Free – 48.99, Kk LeBlanc
Girls 50 Free (relay lead off) – 22.70, Kk LeBlanc
Girls 200 Free Relay – 1:35.81– Kk LeBlanc, Paige McCray, Andi Jeanes, and Lauren Tillman
