Thursday night under the lights, the Friendswood Mustangs delivered a performance for the ages — shutting out the Iowa Colony Pioneers 1-0 to capture the District Championship.
One run. One win. One district title.
It was the kind of game that reminds you why baseball is beautiful. Both teams battled pitch by pitch, inning by inning, in a tightly contested showdown where every out mattered and every moment had weight. When the final out was recorded, it was the Mustangs who stood tall on their home turf as district champions.
This group has worked all season to earn this moment, and Thursday night they proved exactly who they are.
