What a weekend for Friendswood Mustang Softball.
After a grueling first-round series against Port Neches-Groves, your Mustangs are moving on — and the way they got there makes it even sweeter.
Game 1 was a tough 5–3 loss, and the team didn't pull back into Friendswood until nearly midnight. Seven and a half hours later, they were back on the bus headed to Game 2. That's the kind of grit that doesn't show up in a box score.
In Game 2, the Mustangs dug in and won a hard-fought 3–1 extra-inning battle to force a decisive Game 3 — which tipped off just 30 minutes later. The girls didn't blink. They came out and took care of business with a 7–2 victory to punch their ticket to the Area round.
21 innings. Less than 24 hours. Four-plus hours on a bus. Zero quit.
