Friendswood ISD has been named a CTAT CTE District of Distinction, marking the first time the District has earned this recognition for its commitment to excellence in Career and Technical Education.
The CTAT CTE District of Distinction recognition honors school districts that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond. Friendswood ISD was recognized for its innovative CTE programs, strong leadership, and meaningful partnerships with industry and community organizations.
Executive Director of CTE & Community Partnerships Lexi Kopp and CTE Coordinator Jaime Louviere lead this work and continue to expand opportunities for students to explore career pathways, develop real-world skills, and connect classroom learning with future careers.
Friendswood ISD offers CTE pathways that let students discover their interests while gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on experience. Through collaboration among CTE educators, campus and district leadership, students, and community and industry partners, these programs continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of students and the workforce.
The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation has also played an important role in supporting CTE opportunities throughout the District. Through grants, the Foundation has provided resources, equipment, and learning experiences that help educators bring innovative ideas into the classroom and give students more hands-on learning opportunities.
Earning the CTAT CTE District of Distinction recognition reflects the collective efforts of the educators, administrators, students, and community partners who continue to invest in Career and Technical Education in Friendswood ISD.
As the District celebrates this first-time honor, Friendswood ISD remains committed to creating meaningful opportunities that help students build skills, explore possibilities, and prepare for success beyond graduation.
